Festival Dates & Hours

Railbird Festival returns to the beautiful grounds of Keeneland on August 22-23, 2020. Gate times will be revealed closer to the festival.

Before entering the venue, you must show your festival wristband and go through a security search and scan your festival wristband.

Yes, patrons with a WEEKEND PASS can leave and re-enter the venue at any time. However, if you plan on re-entering you will need to scan your wristband each time you exit and re-enter.

Available Ticket Types

To see what tickets are available, visit the tickets page.

The Buying Process

From our tickets page, the “buy now” links will take you to our ticketing site hosted by Front Gate Tickets. Front Gate handles all things associated directly with your purchase order including customer service for things like payment, order changes, wristband shipments, etc.

  • Create an Account: When you add a ticket to your cart, you will be prompted to create or sign into a Front Gate Tickets account. This is required and is the account you will need to log in to if you ever want to review or update your order. It’s a good idea to create a Front Gate Tickets account ahead of time if you are buying at a busy time and want to be able to move quickly.
  • Time Limit: Once you add a ticket to your cart, you will have a limited time to finish checkout. So be sure you know what you want before going in. This is done to make sure that everyone has a fair chance at the limited ticket volume and nobody can hold onto them indefinitely without purchasing them.
  • Layaway Plans: Near the end of the checkout process you will have the option of splitting your order into multiple payments. This can be done to any order and will split your ENTIRE order cost based on a percentage.

Contact Front Gate Tickets

If you need to contact our ticket service provider, Front Gate Tickets, call their friendly support team at 888-512-SHOW Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. CST. undefined

Official Wristband Policy

  • Wristbands will be mailed in advance of the festival.
  • All sales are FINAL – no refunds and no exchanges.
  • Only wristbands purchased through Front Gate Tickets are valid. If you purchased from an unauthorized source and/or the ticket is counterfeit, you will not be allowed entry.
  • Wristbands MUST be worn securely on wrist and cannot be slipped on and off.
  • Tickets must be scanned upon exit at the gate in order to re-enter that same day.
  • Do NOT remove between days, stretch or tamper with your wristband in any way or you will not be allowed entry.
  • Subsequent and/or multiple presentations of a counterfeited wristband are VOID and will be seized by Festival security staff.
  • If your wristband is removed by Festival security/event staff for any reason, it WILL NOT be replaced.
  • All ticket holders must pass through security and are subject to bag inspection. Prohibited items will be confiscated by event staff.
  • The festival takes place rain or shine.

Lost or Stolen Wristbands

If your wristband has been lost or stolen, please contact our ticket provider, Front Gate Tickets or call 888-512-SHOW (7469) in advance of the festival.

Wristband Registration

Fans will need to activate their wristbands before heading to the festival to ensure a smooth process entering the gates. Wristband activation verifies the wristband authenticity. You can associate an emergency contact to your credential, as well as help expedite any issues you might have once at the fest. Activation link and directions will be available closer to the festival. Fans can securely link their wristband to a credit or debit card to pay with a tap of the wrist at food vendors, bars, and Festival merchandise tents. Fans can sign up for Cashless closer to the festival.

Layaway Plans

Layaway Plans may sound confusing, but they’re way easier than you think!

First, click on the link for the ticket type you wish to purchase (GA, GA Student, or VIP), then add it in your cart and head towards checkout. Then select “layaway plan” near the end of the checkout process. The only additional charge for using a layaway plan as opposed to buying in full is a fee of $10 (and this fee isn’t even per ticket, it’s per order – so buy in bulk to save.)

After your first payment is made, the follow-up payments will be drawn automatically from the same payment method on the specified due dates. If you would like to update your payment info afterwards, you can do so in your Front Gate Tickets account that you create when you purchase or reach out to Front Gate Tickets Support.

From there you can manage your orders, change credit cards or shipping address on file, and even pay it all off early if you’d like.

Buying for Third Party Sellers

Only wristbands purchased through our official ticket website are guaranteed to be authentic, with properly coded and activated RFID technology. If you want 100% confidence in your ticket purchase, you should only purchase your tickets through the link on our tickets page, or through a friend’s link in our OFFICIAL ambassador program powered by Verve. In the event of a festival cancellation, your tickets may only be refunded when purchased through our official site. Tickets from other websites or resellers cannot be verified by the festival. WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO GET SCAMMED!

PLEASE BE AWARE: We are not responsible for any counterfeit tickets, wristbands or car passes. In addition, any wristbands reported lost or stolen will have their RFID chip deactivated and will not be valid. For your own protection, please do not purchase wristbands from any source other than Fake or deactivated wristbands may look like the real thing but they will be identified by our scanning system at the front gates. Those in possession of fake wristbands – or ones reported lost or stolen – will not be admitted to the festival and the wristband(s) will be confiscated.

Removing a wristband automatically voids it (unless by accident or for safety reasons, in which case you need to get a replacement wristband from a customer service booth at the festival – this will require you to prove your purchase information). Festival Security will check every wristband to assure it has not been removed or passed between multiple people.

Children at the Festival

Children 10 years-old and younger will be admitted free of charge with a ticket-holding adult. Limit 2 children per ticketed adult.

Planning For Weather

Just a friendly reminder that Railbird is a rain or shine event. So even if there are some showers, the show will go on!

That being said, your safety is our FIRST priority, so here are a few things to keep in mind to make sure you have a great weekend and stay dry!

Listen to all directions from official Railbird staff If there are any weather updates, we will alert fans on social media @RailbirdFest and on the stage screens

In case of lightning or high winds, we may temporarily ask that you seek shelter in your vehicles till things are safer (if you don’t have a vehicle, make a friend!) If there is a temporary evacuation of the festival site, all patrons will need to re-enter through the main festival entrance and go through security again.

ADA Access & Accommodations

ADA Accommodations

Railbird is fully ADA compliant and provides options for fans with disabilities to come and have a great time. Please stop by the info booth on the way in for details.

Patrons With Mobility Limitations

The Festival grounds are wheelchair accessible, but please be aware it is an outdoor music festival situated on the grounds of Keeneland. Therefore, most travel is over natural terrain. If it should rain, there will be mud in some places.

We do not provide personal care or push services. Please plan ahead and bring attendants if needed. In addition, the festival does not provide wheelchairs for rent or loan. Please make arrangements in advance if a wheelchair is needed.

Wheelchairs are allowed for use by Patrons with mobility disabilities. For safety reasons, requests to use other power-driven mobility devices will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Service Animals

Animals and pets are not allowed within the festival grounds, however, patrons with disabilities are welcome to utilize fully-trained and ADA-recognized service animals at the Festival. Please bring official paperwork with you and our security team will get you and your animal squared away upon entry.
